For this brief I decided I would focus on capturing and framing the everyday, the sites and objects we walk past on a daily basis without noticing the work of art before our eyes.
There are certain places in Limerick city that have really captured my eye over the past year. I decided to photograph these places the way I look at them. I used dodge and burn effect on a few of the images and high contrast with a filter 4.5 on others to slightly distort or manipulate the image. Through this brief I have learned to look at everyday objects in a different light and how to edit in the darkroom which I found to be quite intriguing.

Robert Smithson Walk- Brief
For my Brief I focused on searching for beauty in desolation and destruction. I focused on certain areas that Sean showed us and also at certain spaces which we would normally not pay much attention to as we walk by. I was influence by Smithsons style of photograph and interpreted the work of Jeff Wall and Lewis Baltz and Richard Wentworth

Photographing with film
So today I processed my film which was very difficult thankfully I had some help from my tutor in this department. The negatives turned out great so I'm hoping my photos will too, we'll see tomorrow! I'm very excited
Concept for brief and preparatory shots
For my brief I have decided to focus on the new and the old Limerick and compare the two. I went in to the older more run down areas and compared them to the newer areas of the city that have money being put into them. This is what really interests me about the city some areas are very rustic with old bricked buildings and are in stark contrast to what is just around the corner.
Here are some of my favourite preparatory shots which I liked
